‘Night does not show things, it suggests them.
It disturbes and surprises us with its strangeness.
It liberates forces within us which are dominated
by our reason during the daytime.’
There’s a line in one of Haruki Murakami’s novels where the sky grows darker, one stroke at a time, into deeper shades of night. Whilst wandering the streets in the night air I connect to it all, from the stars, city lights to other souls who inhabit the city after dark. The shades of night are like entire universes to me.
